Hi, my first post here.

Boiler: Ideal Logic 30 (fitted 2014).

We are experiencing random drops in pressure on the boiler- down to 0. Last week the issue occured twice & again this morning when I noticed the heating was not on. Prior to this, same issue occured some months ago where I topped up the pressure and was fine after this.

I had an engineer out yesterday for a different issue (L1 fault) which has been resolved. I mentioned the sudden drops in pressure and he said he will tweak the boiler to see if it makes any difference.

Firstly I’d like to ask what could be the possible causes & secondly as I mentioned above, at times there is no problem for months then the sudden pressure drop occurs..? I’ve inspected all radiators/valves/pipes & found no visible leaks. Any help and advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

If it's a Logic of that age it could well be a failed main heat exchanger. They have a nasty habit of doing this. About £500 to repair if you're not still under warranty

I would be checking prv for any drips and checking condensate for same, with past experience has always comes down to the heat exchanger not to uncommon on these boilers.

Thanks for the quick response guys. The boiler was fitted for me by the local council at no cost- im guessing they installed a not so good boiler make then to cut down on costs..?

I shall be giving Ideak a call for sure.
