Hi

Having just moved house (from having a gas combi boiler) to our new house (oil central heating/HW)

I would like to replace the old dial thermostat and mechanical timer with a new wireless unit. My understanding is I swap the dial thermostat with the receiving unit? If so would I then just remove the mechanical timer unit and wiring?

Any help gratefully received!

you fit the receiver unit near your boiler and it gets wired into your boiler then all your other controls need to be linked out or totally removed or left set to constantly on, if you have a wiring centre the receiver is usually fitted next to that all depends on your system

Hi & many thanks for the reply.

I will try and explain the current setup (& hope it makes sense!)

There is a 3A fcu which has a dial timer connected (in room where boiler is located). In the hall there is an old thermostat with a dial (HWC in loft and is controlled seperately).

I would like to replace both the dial timer and thermostat with a remote unit (happy to remove all cabling from thermostat)?

Ianmcd has explained what you need to do. Choose your new control unit, and wire it in accordance with the instructions.

Hi

Thanks again for the replies. Sorry I hand't mentioned there looks to be a Hager Relay for the HW pump & CH pump which is making it more confusing?!
