I wonder if the thing on the right is a contactor

take some better pics of it please

bigger, and lit.

and of the wires that go into it, and where they go.

It will be useful to see the boiler and cylinder too.

I expect you have a pump and a motorised valve. Show us please.

Thanks for replying JohnD its doing my head in like i say wet plumbing bathrooms everything else but central heating it is an old system been in dads for over 30+years my brother in law was a wiz kid no longer with use i think thats some sort of relay in the pic.

Info i know is the boiler is a floor mounted glow worm copper cylinder in the airing cupboard motorized two port valve on top pipe going onto cylinder cylinder stat, hall stat, heating pump about 15 feet away from boiler, when i manually open the motorized valve it still dosen't heat the water, i,ll get some more pics tomorrow

Thanks.

Evening peeps JohnD you asked me to put some pics on all i could do today are these ones due to other crap happening, it looks like it's pumped c/heating gravity H/W.

I mean i'm no leccy but who ever wired it up has made it harder to find out whats what, i don't live at the property but my brother doe's and this morning he put the lever on the M/valve to manual and they got hot water.

Thanks for any help i have enough to sort out at home.

You know what after having 146 views and asking for help you would think well i would think that i would get more help then the only guy thanks JohnD.

Have you tested the 2 port valve on the cylinder is working correctly?

I think it's a fault between the 2 port valve, said relay, and the 2 port thermostat.

If you're unable to test all three for proper functionality, we can't help.

Yes, but if the relay is chattering that might be the first suspect. I don't see what it's doing, though.

Afternoon guys i changed the motor in the valve a couple of times over the last few weeks the valve has worked i'm thinking its the relay contact as the valve isn't stuck the relay sometimes buzz's thing is when this was put in my B/in law didn't use a relay off the shelf i could just change it. Thanks.

Really struggling to understand what you're saying.

Can you change it or not?

you have a fully pumped system, and that is a DHW cylinder thermostat not a 2 port thermostat, it does however operate the motor in the 2 port motorised valve
