Can I use a thicker wall plate?

I've put the steels in for the flat roof of my extension (to support roof lantern), and I've put them in higher than I originally planned to, so the inner skin is now 50mm too low for a standard 45mm wall plate.

Could I just use a 95mm wall plate? Saves me cutting a lot of 40mm slithers! I can't really think why not, but thought I'd ask just in case.

If you can find 95 x 47mm finish section 4×2 thatll get you pretty close if doubled up.

assumin the falls is from ledger abutment plate to wall plate.
are you sayin your outside skin is higher than your inside skin by 100mm?
what about the height of the abutment wall ledger/plate?
the wall plate goes on before any steels or joists.
can you post photos of what youve got?

Actually the difference in height is from the steels, all the joists are going from steels (sitting inside flanges) to wall plates on walls/ledger plate along the house.

Outside skin is currently two courses higher than inside, to account for wall plate and cutting joists in half to have a smaller fascia, but that's not really important here, its the difference in height between the steels and inside skin that matters.
