550mm as its a snug fit inside 600 unit.

The old fridge feezer that was fitted in the space was shoved right up against the house wall and just a few mm in each side in the cabinet, so according to the manual not enough ventilation space. Maybe why it broke?

What I like about the new fridge freezer is it's just big enough for our needs so energy efficient and I ensured ventilation spaces at back and sides enough, also easy to get out of the space if needed. And it was cheap!

I think putting a cupboard above by cutting down one of the old cabinet doors would look nice, thanks for this idea I like it. I am stuck though because I don't have the right kind of saw for the job to get a dead straight cut. I was thinking b&q could do it for me but apparently they only cut things you have brought from them. Is there somewhere else I could ask to do the cut?

Your best bet is to find a local lumber merchant/ wood yard, they would be able to cut it for a small fee.

Make sure they do the cut at the TOP of the door so you have a nice melamine finish underneath where it will be viewable. Nothing worse than a piece of iron on trim that never sticks correctly.
