I am converting a utility room into a second bathroom
The window frame is in perfect condition and doesn't need altering so I don't want to rip out the whole window . Is changing the sealed unit the simplest most cost effective route? (I assume I can't treat the existing glass in some way?!)

Thanks

Call a local window fitter for a quote to just replace the glass, might be a lot cheaper than you think.

Or, maybe put the frosting film on the outside?

Don't put frosted film outside! LOL , can't believe that its just been pointed out that water can get under the film in a bathroom and then its suggested to put the film outside , where it will be subject to rain, snow, hail , frost etc , window films don't like being outside, even the wind can affect them as they are battered by tiny particles of grit and dust wearing the film away!

Frosted film is ok , but bear in mind your glass will need to be absolutely spotlessly clean , or every little piece of dirt is going to show as a bubble... best bet is to replace the sealed unit

Yeah, not my best suggestion!
What about spray paint - looks like there is a product - frosted glass in a can - although some of the reviews are pretty bad!
