if the panel is generating the code then a login should be possible, if it isn't then sounds like its being blocked.

There are a list of ports you can check, but don't have them to hand at the minute, never needed them but I know it exists.

wintex wont work if some of the detail are not correct

whats your lights showing on the smart com, what version panel and what version smart com?

V2 smart com V5 panel???

Think you may have answered my question, not sure if V1.01 works with V4

Panel is V4

The smartcom firmware has been updated several times for various reasons, one of which including the smart com locking up and only solution until the firmware update, was to power cycle the smart com to regain coms.

You are connecting wirelessly? In the early versions of the smart com the wireless was supposed to be deactivated, cant remember when it was when it was officially turned on.

Have you got any further with connecting?

The manual has the correct info in it, as the firmware on the smartcom has been upgraded its become much easier to get installed, done lots of these, the initial connection was the hardest.

if using wireless, I would opt short term to use ethernet cable, get it up and running and everything updated, and then look again at the wireless once the smart com is updated.

The Smartcom is connected via ethernet straight into my network switch and getting DHCP IP address, I can ping the device.

Im actually

going backwards now as cannot connect to the panel using Wintex wireless like earlier, I played with the port details on Com 2 and now cannot access but still can access using USB cable.

the best thing to do at the minute.

is turn off the smart com and comip via the keypad in comport options, disconnect the cables for the smart com to the panel, clear the ip address assigned for the comip in setup modules ip settings, effectively doing a complete restart.

once its all off, connect the smart com and comip back up and and reprogram them back on including the texecom connect settings, make a brew, then check the ip details have populated.

If they have you should be able to generate a code, setup a new wintex profile. and try and connect.

I am around if you want to pm me, but may not respond immediately.

ok strange thing, now working and all i done was enter the details back in..

As above, make sure you update the Smartcom firmware, I did mine last week and it now works perfectly, I control my external security lights connected to the smart plug with a recipe in the app. It was temperamental as Hell, often the lights wouldn’t come on when the PIRs were triggered as per recipe setup. I had even just bought a relay and was going to hard wire it and bin the smart plug idea. However since updating it’s been faultless. Really easy....
