I'm thinking of knocking out an existing window and bricks below to put in some double patio doors. The height of the existing opening is 198cm - is this too low to meet building regs? Don't really want to raise the height with a new lintel for the sake of a few extra cm but understand there are rules to follow. We already have access to the garden via another door, not sure that would have a bearing on things. Thanks for reading.

Ive never thought about that -is there a minimum height set for an entrance door? -Im not sure there is...

No minimum height.

Dropping the cill down a course may help with perceived height.

No minimum height.

For reference doors are usually 198-204cm so within the normal range.

The opening height is 198cm, so would imagine once the door frame is taken into consideration, the door height itself will probably be around 192cm.
