Removing Condensate Trap On Vailliant Boiler

What is the trick to removing this?

Once removed, where do you refill the fresh water up to?

Vailliant Eco Tec Plus

Sorry we don't allow posts on DIY gas. Removing the condensate trap interferes with the boilers flueway.
