1st of all I would like to thank the likes of kevplumb who has been good enough to answer a question about piping in a previous topic.

The question I have this time is not so much of a problem than a bit of an annoyance. Although at the moment this isnt a prob till a fix the hole in my gas pipe (which I have now got insight into).

My central heating....I have one of those little boxes on the wall with the switches.....one showing HW the other CH....simple stuff.

In the past I have noticed that when I switch on the Hot Water (HW) the radiators heat up......not to full heat but they heat up. Whats that all about? I didnt turn on the CH? Dodgy little box?

Like I say it's just an annoynace, not that vital to my well being just one of those niggles you get in an old knackered house, but whats the story with that....any ideas? Or shall I brace myself for someone else to look at it and charge me enough to take a shuttle trip to the moon

Cheers
