Moving the main supply cable

I suspect because he's not sure he jumped through all the hoops - pm's have always been problematic, and send an image in a pm may be very hard to evaluate the success of. I'm not sure I'd be confident.
That's very true. In fact, although it has occasionally 'worked' (for reasons I haven't understood), I've generally found it impossible to insert images in PMs. When I need to do that, I usually have to resort to e-mail!

Interesting. I had considered that possibility before I asked where you had 'sent' the piccies - but when I went to look, I found ...

Um no, screetch said send them as a private message.....and that's why I posted them here in the end, in case anyone had anything constructive to add

Well I have but maybe they don't appear for you due to the sharing settings. I've set it to everyone now so maybe they will now show

No chance of moving that without a re-termination.

Our incoming electricity supply goes to three big insulators on a bracket on one corner of the house, and then the three cables run along the front wall underneath the eaves, down the wall, through the porch and the front door lintel to the meter in a box high up inside the hallway.

When we had the front render removed some years ago, the builders took down the whole length, about 30 feet, of cables and strung them from the scaffolding while they sandblasted the wall and repointed the old stonework. Then they re-attached the cables to the wall. I took the opportunity to put cable ties to hold the bundle together neatly, as previously the three wires drooped separately between the nails in the wall.

I never realised until reading this thread that this was so dangerous. I've often seen electricity cables slung from makeshift supports on properties being repaired. When I moved here thirty four years ago I refixed the meter board to the wall as it was hanging on the wires because the old rawlplugs had pulled out. :)
