I had a lot of trouble finding a wiring diagram for this originally when i needed to install it, so i thought i would post my own here in case anyone else needs to do this in the future.

Im NOT an electrician, so please double check before you do this, but this method worked for me: https://www.diynot.com/diy/attachments/boiler-wiring-png.131440/

  1. turn off boiler at mains/fusebox
  2. wait for any power to dissipate from boiler ~30 mins
  3. remove red RT loop (this disconnects the onboard boiler smart board)
  4. wire in Call for Heat cable (long red cable)
  5. wire in live/neutral
Keep in mind this is mains voltage so use the appropriate gauge wire.

Ive had this working without problems for 6 months.

The reason ,I take it, for removing the red link is to stop the low voltage side of the cct keeping the boiler permanently on heating

Yes thats right, without that it will ignore the Nest and just use the onboard controller

I thought that due to this being an ancillary device due to it not bypassing any safety systems or directly linking to the gas control it was exempt from that legislation?

As Dan says, you shouldn't be removing the front cover of boiler unless you're Gas Safe Registered
