I've recently re grouted my shower and changed the awful wood panelling (previous person put it in around the bath, yuk). with tiles.
That side of it works fine, However as you can see in the enclosed picture, the plastic surround I have added on to seal over the edge of the tiles will not stick properly.
It has been stuck down with lots of grout so that it seals, and water cannot get through and behind the tiles. However this still seems to be happening.
It's standard waterproof grout.
I thought it may be better to use silicon under the plastic strip and a line down both edges of the strip, which should make a better seal. What do you think? Any better ideas?

I'm also concerned that the thick grout I've used between the horizontal and vertical tiles will not withstand lots of water. Any other ideas? Could this be better sealed with a waterproof paint / varnish?

Thanks as ever.

hope you like my bathroom :D
