Hi Guys,

Really struggling to remove my Odyssey X3 Octagonal bell box cover from my alarm system. I'm using an Odyssey X-W back plate.

I've removed the screw at the bottom of the cover and as per user manual, I've pressed Tab and pulled the cover up, but it doesn't come out.

Am I missing something here?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,

Andy

You don't need to fully remove the screw. Press harder on the white clip whilst pulling upwards from the bottom edge. You might need to use a screwdriver to press on the white clip to push it in further.

Thanks for your message @scott1980

If I've completly removed the screw, do I need to put it back in? I'm assuming this part doesn't matter.

I pushed the tab with my thumb, and with a screw driver while pushing the blue cover up at the same time. Am I doing it wrong?

You don't need to totally remove the screw, only enough so that it's clear of the sounder cover. The cover is hinged from the top, so you need to push the white clip upwards by around 3-5mm whilst pulling the bottom edge of the blue part of the sounder away from the wall.

Have to admit it can be quite hard.

using a large flat head screw driver pushing on the plastic whilst try to lift the lens part of the lid.

I do like the Odyssey X but lifting the cover is probably the worst part.

Tried all this, pushed the tab with a screwdriver and tried to pull the blue cover part away from the wall. Had a neighbour help me too and we both couldn't remove it.

Is there another technique to this?

It is difficult to describe the technique, end of the day only that clip at the bottom is holding the cover there you have to get that right to release the cover.

The cover then will lift up.

do pushing it in and getting the cover past the clip.

Okay thanks, at least I know I'm looking in the right place.

The sounder did go off for about a second and then went off straight away, so if it goes off again, how do i turn it off? Just take the batteries out?

@secureiam I managed to get the cover off, learn the device and now it is working well.

Only question is:
All my devices inside the house are in area A. Garage DT-W PIR is connected to Area C.

What then, do I set the area or areas for my sounder?

Many thanks in advance.
