Main question it readability between a tamper loop and eol, i really dont want false alarms due to interference from an eol system, or it this not accurate to believe. im aware a loop system could be tricky to track down a fault but as its out buildings none of wiring is going to be plastered so will all be relatively easily accessible.

Am i incorrect in saying that loop system is less likely to give false alarms, i was thinking an open vs close circuit in more decisive.

Quick question my install is a bit unusual as it for out buildings, theres a long run then lots of sensors, ive got 6 core and was gonna run 1 door Eol and a pir eol (seperate zones) back through the 6 core is that ok?

heres basic schematic, ops sorry for scale, 2 pirs down stairs covering 2 smaller rooms, 1 rollers sensor back 1 roller sensor left and a door sensor upstairs (only access through that door)

Many thanks Joe

Best practice, 1x PiR =1x 6core - 24x PiR 24x PiR = 24x 6core

Never
connect two PiRs or more to one circuit

Door contacts, make sure you don't fit too many to one circuit, old days it used to be 10x contacts to one circuit. Not today though, now less is best.

All the circuit cables to their own individual panel zones.

All this seems very long winded but it is certainly the better way to go.

Have fun.

ive got elite 24 so its got 8 zones + 2 on keypad, was gonna go 1 zone per item, so everything had its own zone nothing shared.

1 device one zone best option on this panel EOL is best.

Tamper loops you refer to are shared . EOL you will get alarm or tamper for you device if the device is correctly configured for EOL along with panel or keypad.

Note: 24 panel has two terminals per zone keypads have 4 terminals per zone.

ive done this with 1 exception,a 6 core wire has a global tamper 2 doors but separate circuits (still not received my resistors...)

got board up and power and run a few zones in, pirs working spot on eol, but how do i change the doors to the global tamper can find it yet in options,

makes the wiring look easy when you get to control panel programming

here is a crap schematic of my door circuit green and yellow global tampoer

not sure I follow.

the alarm if not using resistors wires back to two zone terminals and the global tamper the global tamper/aux fault terminals.

zone type normally closed/

If its in the keypad with 4 terminals the alarm pair is used and the tamper pair, and programmed double pole / eol xones on keypad have to be mapped though.

wired exactly as you describe, (no resistors, white blue one door circuit red and black another) i just need to change it to normally closed '0' rather the eol '2' many thanks (y)

wired it all up no and all zones working, found the area you described and found from a previous thread to put unused zones into usually open so did this aswell so none show fault.

One question,

i have and outdoor pir which if tripped im hoping will text me (when i get the smartcom sorted) i dont want it to start the ringer (then i can check cameras to see if its false alarm) is there a way to do this, after reading the manual nothing is jumping out as obvious as how to achieve this.

Many thanks to all the input on this forum so far, many questions ive had have already been answered in previous posts ive found through searching (y)(y)

ha ha i went for a pir one one of the roller door entrances, floor is not ideal for mounting sensor, needless to say hens will set off the pir
