Boilermate 2 draining down

do you see that little pipe running from the top to the big bit?

thats the feed pipe, and solder is bril for cleaning it out ;)

and yes the main symptom is non filling rads :)

you should be grand

when you refill it watch the level of the header tank. if the water doesnt go down and the ballvalve doesnt open then you know its blocked.

The pipe to the left? I will do is ensure it's clear before refilling. Does scale causes the blockage?

Nickso and Corgiman thanks so much for your advice.

Cheers

no the pipe to the left is the open vent. the pipe that blocks is the one to the right.

its sludge that blocks it.

Well guys game over, firstly it took an hour 2 drain!!!
And yes I managed to install the rads.

But.......the main sticking point was is it going to refill...... I did plunge some solder in the pipe first and guess what it filled OK......PHEW

Had a problem with the pumps one of them kept running during draining the system I could not find any electric isolation to switch off the BoilerMate, major bangs a crashes from the system, just switch off all the electrics in the end. Fingers crossed now the system heats up OK.

Thanks to everyone for your help and support.

Will let you all know if it's working!!!

Come England!!!

Pls guys I need urgent help on a system boiler that am working on, BoilerMate II the cylinder main feed is block any help pls

Ezekiel, as has been advised earlier on this topic, fill the cylinder using a hosepipe into the vent pipe.

In the longer term it will be better to create a new cold feed, using a new tee at the drain off point.
