Hi, i Keep getting let down by plasterers i Only need 1 wall plastered that had very bad debonded plaster, the wall is already stripped back to brick, no plasterer seems to want the work so need to fix myself so we can move back into my bedroom.

What's the best way to get a good enough coat of plaster on the wall so I can just put some lining paper up?

Would I need to pva first if so best way?
Then a coat of bonding plaster
Then Another coat of pva
And to finish a coat of multi finish plaster

Any advice would be really appreciated
Thanks

Apply watered down 50/50 PVA or SBR on the wall. Dot and Dab plasterboard on or use plasterboard foam if wall is relatively flat with no sockets etc.. Scrim tape up and skim.

Hi Bonnie
I was trying to avoid the Plaster board route as I have very shallow door frames etc
Thanks

first remove archies
consider outlets an plates?
consider window reveals
consider any rails or covin?

pva allow to dry.
second coat of pva - allow to go tacky.
go at it with a base coat an as the base coat dries apply first coat skim.
allow skim to begin firm up an go over it with the second coat of skim.

Unless you're a plasterer, or naturally gifted you will struggle. In any case I don't know how you'd get bonding and skim any thinner than 9.5mm plaster board glued on and papered directly onto.
