They're always packed the value is superb and for fast food it's good ....... They don't attract chav type louts which is a bonus

Suprisingly a lot of older women will go in by themselves to have tea or coffee ....well there is unlimited refills.
You wouldn't see them go in to a pub.......I think the other thing is there is a certain anonymity in going in to a weatherspoons unlike feeling intrusive if you go in to some small locals.

What is there to actually knock ? Unless of course if your a snotty socialist type who has personal visions of grandeur whilst spouting hypicritical equality mantras !

By the way this interchange between Tim Martin and Terry Christian shows Terry Christian to be an ignorant loudmouth .....what's his point in insulting the weatherspoons buisness ....Christian is a first order prattt

So people who don't go into any pub, in general, not through any religious or moral objection, or do hold moral or religious objections to pubs, or have not found the service better then their local, or prefer their local because that's where their friends are, or because the Weatherspoons is too far away, or because they prefer the ale in their local, or can walk to their local avoiding driving, or have a friend who works in their local, or any other myriad of reasons, meet your description, "snotty socialist type who has personal visions of grandeur whilst spouting hypicritical equality mantras"

Thank you for your wisdom. I must remember to consult you, perhaps next time I am looking for a swear word, or a suitable response to dropping my toast and it lands butter side down.

In the clip posted Terry Christian slates weatherspoons saying it's crap food and drink........he appears to be a champagne socialist to me .......thats the point I was making .....weatherspoons is not fine dining ....but I'm not slating it because of that !!!! Have I clarified my position ?

What are they?...I like WS because they are cheap....End of.

I meant to say weatherspoons doesn't appear to attract loud drunk chavs ....but in Harrogate it does attract young ladies with suspenders knee length socks bare thigh accompanied with to my mind knickers on or perhaps brief briefs !!! I did point out the young lady to my wife !!!

I've asked my good lady a dozen times if we can go back but she say's No !!

It's purely the aesthetics of the establishment that is titillating !

When myself and others ventured down South to protest at the way this Government is ignoring the will of 17.4 m people, we had a hearty breakfast at W.S. it was well priced, good cup of tea and we showed our appriciation by tipping the staff. (A Northern thing)

It gets my vote.

Tim

Wetherspoons is obviously not fine dining.
But don't let anyone kid you, many pubs serve food that is no different, yet will rinse you and yours for twice as much.

It is what it is, makes no bones about it, and gets my vote (as well as my bunce)(y)

Mine too. We always fill up at Spoons before moving on to go eat or to slow down a little.

Hear, hear, Wetherspoons is great; they have got everything just right. Their pubs are like pubs used to be - but with dinners!

Wetherspoons is great, never been cheaper to destroy your liver.
I drink in Wetherspoons ,only a couple of quid a pint while the pub down the street charges double.
Dossers who used to sit on park benches with a carry out can now afford to sit in comfort in Spoons because the drink is so cheap.

Their flair for turning round old dilapidated unloved buildings is to be admired, I'll hold my own judgement on the food.

I like the Whetherspoons also.

Empire state burger for me with a side of extra onion rings. The one near me does lovely real ale too.

Thats certainly true, the opera house in Tunbridge Wells was converted to a Spoons -it had previously been a bingo hall until it ended up shut for many years

They even have opera sometimes
