Bosch Washing Machine F18

My front loading Bosch Exxcel washing machine dryer (Bosch wvd24520gb/08) is giving a drain error (F18). The drain filter is not blocked. The outlet looks okay. So I guess it is a failed drain pump. I have bought one of these and it arrives today:

The original motor came off easily, it just rotates and pulls away. Can I just replace the motor or should I replace the whole unit? There are two screws on the front panel of the machine and one is stuck tight, hence replacing the motor alone will be easier. Otherwise it's a trip to the DIY store to get a set of Torx screwdrivers to replace the small one I have.

Try it, replace just motor and see what happens. If you're confident that filter is ok.

I'd personally change the lot but if you don't want to buy the torx bits try it first

Thanks. The unit has arrived, and the fitting between the motor and the filter is not the same, so I will replace the whole unit.
