I just don’t know what to do

Thanks for the replies and understanding guys. Makes me feel a whole lot better.

My age is 37 and I started my apprenticeship late (I think I was 23) and work in the north west area. I have got a few components already that have been ripped out as a conversion has gone in. Just not had the time to do owt with them.

I have seen flameport/JW, but I drift off - have learnt some good stuff though.

Think I will take a lot of the advice and join the CC. Also to go on some courses. I have been on the Honeywell, but it was a long time ago.

Thanks again

When trying to understand wiring, think of it as both power and signal, and look at the wiring diagram "as the electricity sees it". If you know which switches are open and closed you can trace it through. Same with water diagrams and valves. Rinse and repeat for different starting conditions.

I always have trouble with NO/NC on thermostats, I find 'make on rise' and 'break on rise' more useful.
