Morning guys,

How would I rectify this. Installed a new bathroom sink yesterday, turned water off and drained it, but when switching the heating back on it sounded like someone was kicking the pipes (air most likely)

The red light flashes on the boiler and won't go off.

The boiler is a Baxi 18HE

Assuming you drained the hot water pipe to fit your new basin, then I don't see how the two are connected, you don't have a combi boiler.

Have you tried the reset button on the boiler?

The HW that comes out of your basin tap does not connect to the boiler in any way, you have done something else, when you say you turned the HW off what exactly did you do and where did you drain it from

if you did that the hw tap would take an age to drain as you would have had to empty the cold water storage tank, that is in your loft, you are not telling us everything, could be an airlock, but shutting off the cold main inlet would not stop the HW supply untill the cistern in your loft had emptied

Plumber's Curse... You didn't touch it but it occured whilst you were working on a completely unrelated part of the facilties and is therefore your fault!

Probably a bit left field, but is this a completely new sink job or a replacement.?

If a replacement, I trust you have connected to hot and cold, and not to the CH pipes?
