Not sure you should have included the Portuguese. They have been allies for 630 years and are being most accommodating in this mess.

Also, having Britain by the balls is a strange conclusion seeing it is Britain who has dropped its trousers and is banging its balls together in public.

Perhaps it would be better to be in the club and help form the rules - oh, and get rid of the attitude that they're superior to everyone else.

What benefits has the UK agreed it wants to obtain by resigning from the EU?

Nobody knows, because no objectives have been agreed.

Has the UK agreed on a withdrawal that gives the UK a better deal than remaining in the EU?

No, it hasn't.

I was thinking of the empire building days when the Portuguse Spanish and Dutch were in competition with us to grab as much of the world as possible.
Oh! "And what have the Romans ever done for us! ";);););)

Good post.

Not sure it's possible to rid the French of their air of superiority either, though.

Not being in the EU is one benefit.

The EU is run by its members for its members.

We have decided to give up the right to help run it, and the right to the benefits of membership.

Did you think it was run for the benefit of countries that flounce out with ill-will and insults?
