Obviously a bit more than turn the handle / use a key.

The door doesn't get locked by key so it appears to be on the latch. On the inside is a turning knob to lock the door from the inside. I tried to find this on google images but I must be using the wrong search terms.
The exterior handle has actually come off since these photos were taken.

Short of a crowbar how can you actually get in? Or is a crowbar the answer?

If it just on the latch then you could do it with one of these.....

OR just put the handle back on and open it or am I missing something?

Other than that try pulling the handle side toward the hinge side to pp the latch out of the striker plate, the pvc section should give enough

Yes - when the handle was on someone has clearly tried turning it with a ton of force because it just popped right out of the hole. It'd spin freely.

What's that image? Looks like a fancy knife thing.

Ok so the handle has been forced and you've broken the square drive inside the mechanism where the spindle slides through, so its either the entry tool like I have.......https://locksandhardwaredirect.co.u...pPSLXwMZviiizC0c-4HxoCpPcQAvD_BwE.........but you might need to prove your a locksmith before they'll sell you one

OR prizing the lock side away from the frame to pop the latch out the frame striker plate

So crowbar time then?

Where this door is located I can't see them spending £18 on a tool to be honest so looks like brute force entry.

Thanks for the feedback.
