As the subject line shows, to move into new house, I need to remove the front fairly new front door. I have never seen a hinge like it, and cannot find one like it searching the web.

I have attached a photo below, and would be grateful if anyone can help identify the hinges, or tell me how the door can be taken off.

Best regards, Frank B

The door just lifts off, assuming there's clearance above the door.

The hinge could be obsolete because they caused problems, they allowed the door to drop so they wouldn't lock which meant you have to keep adjusting them.

Thanks for the reply Bonnie. It is a newly fitted door, done by the previous owners. And it may be that they have fitted old bits. Thing is, all I want at the moment is to remove the door to get furniture in. If it gives trouble later, that can be sorted. However, i cannot find any hinge that looks like it, or any instructions on how to take the door off. I am of the ilk that asks for the assembled wisdom of the people like you, here on this excellent website. Best wishes, Frank

The door just lifts up about 2 inches and it'll come off it's hinge pins

It's a Trojan patriot flag hinge for future ref

Many thanks for that. I have found the detailed info thanks to you crank 39, so can digest that. But the posts that say just lift the door give me great comfort. I will have to see if that is possible where it is installed, but the fact I have the info means that, even if the room is not there, I can still probably get the door off without resort to stupidity. Best wishes, Frank
