Hi

I'm having a bit of a head scratching moment on something that seems v simple yet I can't seem to figure out.

I'm attempting to use an arduino device with SIM card to shoot off SMS msgs when a digicom output triggers.

Digicom 1: is set to output group Area and 00 - Alarm
Digicom 2: is set to output group System and 01 - Mains Power Off

I then tested the outputs under eng utilities triggering Digicom 1 on and then off, same again for #2. Under test these worked fine and I received the sms msg.

I thought it was all working until a user accidentally triggered the alarm a while after but no SMS was received. I went and switched off mains power to see what would happen and again no SMS.

I redid the eng utility test on the digicom outputs and these work perfectly under test.

I can't figure out why it works on test but doesn't trigger the SMS when it really needs to.

Am I missing some other programming on the system to make it work?

I'm on v2.11 (until I buy a flasher unit!)

Thanks

Copy all your settings to panel outputs ....digi settings are what the comm2400 use

oh I didn't know that!
So i've wired in the trigger wires to OP1 and 2 but the tests under eng utilities are now not working either.
Looking a the manual it seems the two panel outputs available to me (Elite 48 panel) are -ve switched, perhaps my device needs to work on a +ve switch.

Which bit have you used ? Panel outputs ( op 1 ,2 )
Digi outputs ( which are the set of connections on the board ) which you can use
Or digi channels ? This is for the comm2400 ( easy to program this by mistake to find the above (outputs don’t work )

Just reading further on your post eg mains fail ...what’s the mains fail delay set at ? As if there is a delay set it won’t trigger until timer runs out )

Hi
Screenshot of Outputs config.
I just looked up the global system timer for AC Off Delay and it is set to 5mins! That may explain that!
Let me hook the wires back up to the digi outs, and set AC mains delay to 0 min and test it out.

Bingo! @sparkymarka you are spot on. It was the AC mains delay!
I've just also learnt that Wintex diagnostics shows you whats going on with this too.

So I don't want to do a live test on the digi1 trigger at this time at night.
I may do that test another time!

ok digi 1 works too.
I was hoping to go one step further than my original post and delay the external bell by 1 minute on alarm condition too but while still having the internal speaker sound instantly and trigger the SMS notification. The household are often forgetting they have part set the house and keep triggering it off in the morning.

I thought I could do this under Global Options > Timers > Global Bell Delay but I didn't realise this would not only delay the bell box but also delay the internal speaker and keypad from sounding/displaying alerts. However the digitcom did fire instantly.

Would anyone know the exact behavior of setting 'Part Bell Delay for Area' under Area Programming > Timers.
I don't want to do excessive bell tests but perhaps Part Bell might mean the bell box sounder only is delayed?

Thanks again
