Which are the best type of 15mm to 8mm pipe reducers for radiator valves. Are the one piece or the sets using an olive better? Thanks. Ps, my title is not really correct, I am aware both types are classed as compression fittings.

For me it is always the 2 piece with an olive with a little sealing paste to help with friction etc. The pipe gets a hammering with the 1 piece.

I must admit that I feel more comfortable with the two piece as there is some allowance for nipping up if there is a weep. Not sure if you can do this with a one piece. I may be wrong though.

The one piece 'snap' reducers are a nightmare, if you don't get it right on the first go they will leak. The ones with the olives are far better, just ensure the pipe is nice and straight and round and don't overtighten. Better still solder a suitable reducer onto the microbore.
