Help please..DVR Hikvision HiLook 208G-F1

Looking for advise had dvr hikvision 208g-f1 installed last week with 4 cameras that i was told were 5mp. Because the box started beeping after a day i checked the model number and saw it supports 2mps cameras only . I have the installer coming back with a different box that is for 5mps cameras, as he saud he made a mistake and fitted wrong box?.But I am worried that I have no way of checking if i have infact got 5mp cameras installed. He is due to come back with a different box this week. I have been assured by installer they are 5mp but as a novice is there any where i can check myself I wasnt left any literature on the cameras.

Menu , record ,parameters, look at resolution it should say 5mp ....BUT ...you can have 5mp cameras and record at 2mp ...but it should still have 5mp in the drop down menu

So dvr is definitely 2mp but the cameras could be 5mp just rec at 2mp? I suppose when i get the correct dvr i will know then? Just wanted some help as it is all new never had cctv before.
