TCP Smart 'bulbs' and smart sockets

Anybody else tried these?

I purchased two of each from ASDA. Very disappointed.

The Android app frequently reports one or more of the units as being "offline" even when it isnt.

The lamps seem to get confused & turn on at random (no, I haven't set up a switching schedule).

I'm on the verge of returning these & demanding a refund!

Never heard of em. Take them back if they're not fit for purpose. Please don't demand a refund - you are perfectly entitled to one so please just politely request one and they should politely comply.

I remember TCP and yes it did smart, however it was a disinfectant used on cuts and grazes not a bulb and socket, I have used Energenie MiHome smart light switches and sockets and TRV heads and it seems every make has it's good and bad points. So my light switch and sockets would with up to three remote controls and a hub, without using IFTTT it has three times you can set, and you can select which days of the week these are active for. The socket is fast acting but the light switch that does not require a neutral with a 10W bulb is slow around 4 seconds you need to press remote button. TRV needs to be on flow not return as on return radiators gets hot before valve so they are late turning off.

As with all wifi controls much depends on what else is in the house, I have found as a radio ham using just 5 watt with a 70cm two way radio many items start to play up, be it the silly wifi over power devices or just having many devices to filter out cross channel interference it needs some expensive methods, it may be some thing else in the home which cause them to fail, but your looking it happened sooner rather than latter, take them back, but be aware any other make may also fail if it is some thing in your home interfering, Powerline units are about the worse things, they knock out loads of devices, they really should be banned.
