i have got a load of tile adhesive left over from a job. Can i get away with using it to dot and dab plasterboard to brick? Obvs the normal thing to do would be use plasterboard adhesive but seems like they are fairly similar products. Reckon it might work??

Try it, then post pics when it all falls off the wall. For the sake of £10 for a bag of pb adhesive, why risk it?

because if it DID turn out to be possible, it would save me £10! and wasting 20kg of tile addy

So on the board side, you know it’ll work. But on the brick side, I think it’s highly likely to fail, especially if the bricks are dusty/very porous. As risks go and bearing in mind the consequences of it failing later, it’s not one I’d take.

It’d also behave nothing like dab adhesive when you come to try and get it level so you’re likely to end up with loose corners.
