Smart meter - no trust

This is undoubtedly the best, most reliable and accurate way to obtain your information and reinforce your world view.

I'm not of the opinion that asking a liar for truth is a good modus operandi and there is no smoke without fire. I must say I'm much happier to have gotten away from the troll factory that is the general discussion forum. Off you go back there.

Whilst no pragmatic advice has been offered with regards to what I intend to have done ...
Pragmatic advice .... don't bother (to install your own 'check meter') - you are no more likely to have a malfunctioning electricity meter than is anyone else in the country.

Kind Regards, John

Yes, I understand that - but what I don't understand why you want that peace of mind in relation to a smart meter, but seemingly didn't feel the need for the same peace of mind with your non-smart one (which would have been just as likely to develop inaccuracies or be used 'fraudulently').

Kind Regards, John

All technology is likely to develop inaccuracies so what I don't understand why you want that peace of mind in relation to a non-smart meter but seemingly don't feel the need for a smart meter one :sneaky:

I'm not talking about 'two wrongs'. I'm talking about one right to correct one decades-long 'wrong' (if Andy's theory is correct).

Kind Regards, John

Ha you just said exactly the same thing in different words.

As I've said, it was almost certainly a mistake, not a fraud.

Kind Regards, John

How ok earth can you assume that when you don't even know the meter readings as I've not provided any numbers ?

Exactly!! The risks of significantly incorrect readings with smart and non-smart meters are essentially identical - so why have you only decided that you want the peace of mind of having your own 'check meter' just after you have changed to having a smart meter?

Because, as I said, it makes absolutely no sense that an employee would put his liberty at risk by deliberately recording a 'fraudulent' meter reading so that his employer could financially benefit from that fraud.

Kind Regards, John
