As per the title. I’m looking to get a bit more control over when I want the hot water boosting etc & the Hoffmann Electronic 7 looked to be an ideal solution.

However when doing a bit of reading it appears that I can’t use it as a replacement for the E7BX.

Is there an alternative that I can use?

IIRC
The E7BX controls two separate supplies the 24 hour and the E7 supply. And connects these to a single immersion.

The Electronic 7 controls an installation where there is a single feed from the meter that is charged at different time rates. There can be one or two immersions. The Electronic 7 has a timer that is (approximately) synced with the E7 times.

I dont know of an alternate product. Others may.....?

Got this reply from Horstmann:

Thank you for your enquiry, the E7bx unit works off 2 inputs one is available 24 hrs a day where the other is only available during economy times set by your energy supplier. Where as the Electronic 7 (Digital display) works with only one power input and the economy times are programmed into this So swapping these units cannot be done as they are not compatible. You can exchange the E7BX with the BX2000 which is an electronic boost unit
