Is 700mm wide shower area sufficient / comfortable.

Looking to replace bath with 700mm by 1200 shower tray. Auctally dedicate the whole side of that bathroom to shower area.

So 1200 will be shower tray (low profile) and a levelled up floor (tiled) of further 500mm total 1700mm.

Reason I ask is on one wall side is a door entrance / frame which restricts to 700mm wide. Will include a wall to wall enclosure with sliding door.

Does this work. Will it be practical?

700 square would be a bit snug but as you are going much bigger in the other dimension I think it will be fine. If you really want 800 (which is far more common) could you step down the tiled bit by the door?

Hi thanks for your reply. As we want a recess sliding door enclosure. Everything needs to at the same line.

Am in two minds whether to do a wet room former then everything will be in unison and also could set the enclosure door to 760mm.

But I understand wet room former will increase my costs. I have a builder rather than a wet room specialist so in two minds about the wet room level floor shower idea.

Thoughts ?

If you have a 30” door you could reduce frame width to accommodate an 800 tray .
Or change door to open out ?
