artex ceiling skim quotation

Hello,

I have had a quote to skim an artex ceiling.
quote 350 pounds.

Ceiling 5.8m x 4m.

There are a couple of ceiling roses that need to be removed.

The quote includes scraping worst bits, pva and then two multifinish coats.

Is the quote reasonable?
NW based.

Probably OK. I had a room plastered, ceiling was boarded over, but walls needed skimming too, that was £600. Room about 3.3m square.
Scraping and preparing might add more to cost than overboarding - and with overboarding, you get better sound insulation, less artex floating in the air, maybe a better finish too.
 
3years ago around here,South East Wales, plasterers were charging £8 m² for ceilings and £6 for walls labour only on ready prepared surfaces so that would equate to nearly £200 just for spreading for your area?
