After the suicide of a guest who failed a lie detector test, is it time this show was scrapped?

Read an article on BBC from someone who worked on the show and it was shocking. The guests were given tracksuits or certain types of clothes to wear to give them a particular image, basically make them look like chavs.

Then production staff would goad the guests offstage to rile them up before they went out.

.....and this ****e was allowed?

I would say that most of the contestants that go on the show are not normal/retarded/have special needs and it is just preying on the vulnerable. I'm just surprised this is the first death. That **** Kyle ought to hang his head in shame.

It's been axed.

One report (I only read the headline) said that they used to dress people up in hoodies and tracksuits to make them look chavvier. Shocking really.

MJost reality TV is crap, but this is the worst of it.

Keep it. My family found the show useful after my sister had a kid with my mums, uncles, sisters, nieces son. The DNA test proved he was the father.

Its the UK version of the Jerry Springer show.

The one with classics such as 'I married a horse', 'My girlfriend is a man'..........

It is setting up people to be victims, many with emotional, drug or alcohol issues.

Im not a great fan of Jeremy Kyle, he spends his whole time shouting or being aggressive -its sinewhat obe dimensional.

It appeals to human nature, ie voyeurism, 'rubber necking'.

The sad thing is that there is a sub class of people that live disfunctional lives. The police must spend a big proportion of their time dealing with it.

I used to live a few doors away from a row of housing association properties. One lady who lived their had 3 children by 3 different men and the current partner spent his day drinkung and playing on the playstation. One day the lady knocked on the doir, she had blood pouring down her face where she had been pushed over, I called the police for her, which was easy as she knew the number by heart and was on first name terms with the policeman who arrived.

I hate all Jeremy's. Kyle, Corbyn, Clarkson and Vine. There's something about the name Jeremy that makes them into ****s.

No worse than love island, ,essex bolox, that stupid nude blind date, aint jezza's fault. They all know the score and do it of their own free will

Dreadful show, it's also on early in the morning, how anyone can listen to that screeching first thing is beyond me.

Also, I'm led to understand that a lot of it was "chaved up" to get the most outraged responses. Disgusting show.

When I go into most renters in the ruff parts or town they have it on TV and they are just like the people they are watching.

Always makes me chuckle. I’ve never watched it myself though

Michael Barrymore made a living off the backs of (no pun intended) the vulnerable for years.
He was a bit different...Carrying out oversized anal insertions in his pool is a step up from hosting lie detector tests.

I agree with most of the negative comments, but to a lot of the contestants (if that's the right word) it was the proudest moment of their lives, they felt they had achieved something by being on the show.

I also believe that the show has done an excellent job in teaching many of the dregs of society that lying, cheating, stealing are not the way normal people behave, and they should modify their behaviour to improve their life chances.

that has to be the most optimistic opinion I've ever read about reality TV.
