networking IP cameras to a dvr

Ive 3 IP cameras and they work on a remote app a treat. The problem I have is when i connect them to a dvr that I purchased some time ago. The software has a built in "search for cameras" and it can find them but when it tries to add them its changing the IP address of two of them and god knows why its doing it.
I have used this search tool and fixed the IP addresses and they all work as I can access them via a browser on a remote PC.
I think it might be a good idea for me to get a decent dvr that can pick up IP cameras.
If you see the attached images it shows before and after how the software has adjusted the IP addresses. Its quite spooky but I am no expert using IP dvrs.
Help appreciated. Ive hard wired ones connected at present so its project in hand trying to get these working.
Any ideas lads.

They are no longer connecting to your router they are connecting to the DVR so it assigns it’s own IP address range. Imagine the DVR as a router you connect to that and the cameras are connected to it.

You would now find the relevant app to connect to the DVR enter the IP address of the DVR and you should see all the camera.

When you say "find the relevant app" can you give me an example. I used "SearchTool" to assign my camera IPs when I first got them and it worked great.

The IPs are assigned by the DVR, so you don't need the 'Search Tool' for that.
The DVR should come with a remote viewer app. It doesn't change the IPs, it just allows you to see the cameras remotely. If it doesn't have an app there are many you can try from the app store.

You may have to set port forwarding on your broadband router.

Bear in mind that there is a security risk. You must change any default passwords. Apart from that, the DVR and/or the remote view app will be 'phoning home' to China with various data. That may or may not bother you.

I am still slightly baffled how I actually stop the cameras IP being changed being honest. The company whom I purchased the system off dont seem to know how to find solutions when this happens. Its a pity I couldnt set up a cloud or buy another DVR with decent software. I can only say the 2M cameras work amazing without putting them via a DVR(or this dvr). Can you suggest another option.
As a stated before I was so frustrated by this I bought another wired system and it works well but cameras are 720(and dvr cant take 1080).
Ive actually done port forwarding on my Swann wired system so I know how to access this. It would be nice to get this working and use my 2M cameras again with recording .

Sorry Ive just seen your response Sally2000. Right so even though the cameras have their own IPs , the DVRs assigns its own. Got you here . The problem being here though its assigning the same IP twice on two cameras if you see my images on my thread.So i wonder why its assigning the same IP on two different cameras. Its not an easy one this unless i can change the IP on the DVR maybe.

The cameras don't have their own IPs. They have whatever address they are given. If two have been given the same IP it's very likely that there are two different influences at work.

Forget the Search Tool. Do what you need to default the cameras to factory settings and then reconnect them to the DVR so that it can set them as it needs.
 
Thanks, I got the cameras connected to the NVR mini , although being IP wireless they have a habit of disconnecting now and then for no reason.(could be interference).
Now I just need to find out how to connect the NVR remotely. Ive got a IP address for it but when i put it in the IE i keep getting the attached message. Ive downloaded this and loaded it , but when i shut IE down and open it back up and put the NVR IP back in to remote access i get the message again to download the plug-in .
POrt forwarding has been set up on this IP .

Anyone any ideas how to access my NVR . IT is online as I can see the cameras within the NVR.

Help appreciated.

Thanks flameport youve answered that one then as i tried edge and chrome. However ive also tried a windows 7 computer and got the same result. I ll have another go with IE only. Wonder if you can recommend a remote app for IOS mobile to view my NVR . I tried FREE-IP and it didnt like any of the scan codes I was putting in.

Best to look at what NVR/DVR you are using and use the manufacturers recommended app.
