I have a kitchen sink I need to replace. The 2 taps and water spout (I think that's what it's called) are all separate.

See pic below:

Ideally... I'd like to just replace the cartridge, but I can't open the dome.
In another thread posted on this forum, I got replies saying I could remove with some effort.
I simply can't do it. I can't get a grip:

I've tried pliers (with thin plastic gloves covering to try and stop damage to the part).
No joy.

I had another clever idea. I assume the shaft of the tap maybe could be unscrewed.
I managed to get it to wiggle about, but I can't get anymore movement out of it.
Now I have what looks like a black washer sticking out.

I'm guessing I need to hold onto the nut below?

The tap is stiff in different parts. Ideally, would like to keep.
But not sure how to get rid of the stiffness in different parts.

Replacing... I thought would be straight forward - but I can't find taps that come in 3 parts.

Any help would be great!!

Thanks.

aaah... i see more results now
victoria plumbing have - but i don't like the standard of equipment they give
just wish there was more options + not as expensive.
now thinking of blanking out 2 holes and going for a standard tap - more choice there.
I really don't like the idea of blanking out though

The make is MGS, not MSG as on your other thread - there is a manufacturer and UK suppliers etc who should be able to help - but wait till you see the prices - about that of a usable second hand car, for a tap!

@cdbe
thanks for the heads up
i will get someone to have a look for me
i give up
i'm now thinking of getting an ordinary tap and blanking out the 2 holes.
i was against initially, but i think chrome blanking parts look ok.

guys
i thought i'd update.
i had someone come round.
had amazing trouble getting the only tap off.
was all rusted underneath.
i bought tap from screwfix for £80.
amazon had plenty of taps for much cheaper prices.
but didn't want to risk.

thanks for the replies and help.
