Keytags with new smart alarm upgrade

if your system is on police response it is a requirement by the constabulary that all users must have their own keytag

That is assuming it is a system with keytag functionality. It enables the police to determine who did what to the system when investigating an alarm related incident.

Yes.

The new panel would have keytag functionality.

The old one doesn't.

*I've heard it rumoured that, with Theresa May's budget cuts, police response is now only if they happen to have someone in the area with nothing better to do.

Is always been that way but nowadays people are more aware of the situation due to social media etc.

The keypads need to have a prox reader to read the prox tags. The galaxy cp038 keyprox keypads sell for about £40 new on eBay. The galaxy flex panel is around £140 new on eBay. Tags are about £3 each. Labour will be about the same again for a panel swap.

Police response is not guaranteed and depends on resources. Lots of people just opt for self monitoring (keyholder) now, but depends if the insurance company requires the response. I wouldn't list the alarm for 10% insurance discount, as it just gives the company another reason not to pay out on any claim.
