Hi guys,
i've never seen this type of thing before. i just bought a house and there is a white box just fitted behind the toilet. when you flush, it makes a spinning noise as if it's sucking/pushing all the waste out a smaller pipe? does anyone know what this box is called as i need to replace this as it leaks when you flush.

most popular make is a Saniflo. where does it leak from cos they arnt rocket science to fix. can u post a picture.

thanks for the reply bab.
It's leaking from the top somewhere. i'll take a pic of it tomorrow.

the thing i dont understand is there is a small pipe from the saniflow connecting to the waste pipe outside. the length of this pipe is about a foot. i cannot see any reason why a normal sized waste pipe couldn't have been fitted. can you think of any reason as to why somewhere may have gone down the route of fitting a saniflow?

Didn't have a big drill for a big waste pipe ;)

Or they've done something naughty and connected into a rainwater downpipe.

RWP   No. 1`s only then ..........they may have got the Saniflo for free.........Saniflo- the Devil`s lunchbox

I've not had a chance to take a pic of it yet but are these saniflo's very reliable. Anyone have any ideas of how much a new unit costs?

they need to be reliable ....you wouldn`t catch me opening a box of **** with chopping blades in it .........not for any £

If you live up to your name, Bassmonster, I would give that kharzi a miss with your no2s.

Best way to fix them is with a thick pair of marigolds and a clothes peg. Leave the window open in case the clothes peg falls off.

Or throw the whole thing in the skip.

i suggest you do a serach on this forum about them, some amusing stories

I have decided to call in a plumber and have the damn thing removed. just hope the cost doesn't dent my bank account too much...
