Anyone familiar with the kit TT send out?

Apparently their new super router works without a vdsl modem for fibre.

Does the BT master need a filter plate with a vdsl socket?

when i went fibre its only up to the local street box
so i just connected as the old modem was

Yes, fibre is fibre-optic to the local cabinet, FTTC, then copper cable to your house.

So if you connected without any vdsl filter fitted, have you tested the speed?

far to tecnical for me :D
all i know was download went from around 9.6 to 20 then over the last 18 months around 24
and upload from around .96 to about 9.6
i also unplug when not in use regardless off what they say :D

Your upload rate 9.6 seems about right for 36mbps fibre but your download at 24 is poor.

As far as I'm aware the plugin micro filters supplied for the older broadband (adsl) are not adequate for fibre internet. For fibre you need a vdsl filter plate attached to the BT master socket such as this plate.

can go as high as 27/28 would probably get more plugged in the router but ii am in the next room
to be fair i dont do anything that needs more than 5 or6 but at £2.50 a month more was a no brainer [£22-24.50p]
