Hi Guys, Can anyone recommend a decent quality mini blow torch, I'm thinking something about 150mm tall. I've seen chinese ones on ebay, but my experience of chinese tools tells me it would probably blow up in my face. Any ideas? TIA

Back to the subject, does anyone know of a decent quality mini blow torch
I've had a couple of the cheap Chinese ones that screw onto camping gas style cans and they've been fine. Still going strong. There's not much too them so not much to go wrong. Only issue is you can't use them upside down until the nozzle has warmed up. Not a big deal. Might also be worth looking at creme brulee torches. Nice and compact.
Chefs blow torch. Do a search. Available from all good cook stores.

It seems to take a gas canister, are they easy to come by? any idea as to cost of a canister? how long do they last?.
No, you refill them with the small gas refills you find at newsagents...
Gas lasts a long time, the iron...I can't remember when I bought it but many years ago.
They will eat the soldering bits but I'm often running mine on max power.

Dremel versatip will do the job no problem. About £30-35. I've not been impressed by my iroda soldering irons/blowtorch (got 2)
