Cold Water Storage Tank Advice Please

I have a cold water storage tank directly above my bathroom (on top of a false ceiling) which means my ceiling in the bathroom is very low. Because of this, I don't have enough room for a shower above the bath, so I wondered whether it would be possible to move the tank somewhere else (e.g. into the loft - I live on the top floor of a tenement) so I have enough room to get an electric shower put in? If so, is it costly to move the tank?
Also, the water pressure in the flat is really low, whereas my next door neighbour's is very good. Any ideas why and how I can get good pressure? If not, can electric showers deal with rubbish pressure?!?
I know one way to get round the cold water tank problem is to get a combi installed, but in order to do this I'd have to have half my kitchen taken out (to get the old storage tanks removed) which ideally I wouldn't want to do - never mind the cost!

Firstly are you sure that your shower is supplied by cold water from the cold water storage tank and not directly by the mains? If it is you could have the cold water tank raised or you could have a pump installed. The plumber who did either for you could tell you which would be cheaper because it would be difficult for anyone to tell you without looking at your property.

Thanks for the reply Peter. I currently do not have a shower, and I don't know who did all the plumbing in the flat as it was done by the previous owner. But it is possible to move the storage tank into the loft space, is that right?

Yes, you can move the tank into the loft. You say that you don't have very good water pressure. In that case an electric shower won't help you much. You might actually get more benefit from raising the storage tank on a platform in the loft to give you a higher head of water. The alternative, as Peter said, is to get a pump installed.
