Hi I have a extension cable with I think 12 sockets on the end and have used them up and need another couple of sockets, can I just plug a 3 way adapter into 1 to give me the extra 2 I need, or what do you recommend?
Thanks

In an ideal world, each plug has a socket.
But we have to be realistic, and bear in mind that it's a domestic environment
It depends on the current that you draw and I assume that most items are low.

At work we use mains distribution systems like these
https://www.studiospares.com/Cables.../Adam-Hall-PCL10-Power-Conditioner_470540.htm
they are available with 13A sockets and with individual fuses on each circuit.

personally, at home, I'd add another extension cable, labelling each plug top and keeping some kind of order

Thanks, yes loads of low current appliances bar the tv and av receiver, if I have to add another extension I will probably tidy things up and put these 2 on the second extension cable although I will have to do some drilling holes through the frame for the cable to reach the wall socket as this is outside the fitted units

Search for "power splitters" and you will find items like this

which reduces the number of 13 amp sockets needed for low power equipment with "kettle plugs".

Some sources can supply 3 or 4 way "splitters"

Change the fuse to a 5 amp fuse as the cable used may not be suitable for 13 amps.

Thanks but no kettle plugs it’s router, Phillips hue bridge, cordless phone base, harmony remote hub, harmony remote cradle, raspberry pi, led strip behind tv, switch for ethernet, small lamp, Apple TV, projector motorised screen, Blu-ray, tv, freeview box, satellite box, av cabinet cooling setup,av receiver

I had 2 doubles put behind the TV, but still have extension cables. I did think about putting 4 doubles in!
Good thing about extension cable is you can add surge protection, although not sure if I've ever actually needed it.

Thanks all have now got 2 extensions leads behind/under the unit and each plug end going into a double socket which sits just outside the unit, have some cables just running down the front of the unit for now but will route these down the back tomorrow
