Fitting stone shower tray on floor (two plumbers says no cement required?)

In my opinion the dogleg type of fitting your using are rubbish as joints are set back so any leakage goes unnoticed till damage is done . I much prefer to come through beyond the surface in copper at 150mm centre which again in my opinion, the builder should have done.
Edit: theres a marine ply150x 15piece been let in flush with the stud surface for fixing screws

It's going to be tricky as not much room to play with inside the wall.

Standard 150mm centres / 3/4" BSP for your Grohe shower.

For some strange reason the main manufacturers still haven't twigged to including the newer fixing kits rather than those stupid S couplers - bin them

Pair of these or similar will do, use them all the time - 150mm centres for the pipe tails through the wall, so yours will have to move - set them dead level


Then get the tiler to cut the holes in the tiles to suit, needs to be tight, no larger than 18mm with his centres at 150mm dead level and applies solid adhesive around the hole when fitting to the wall. Lessens the chance of the tile cracking when drilling for the fitting kit.

I like the look of the Marflow Shower PL8 fixing plate, and I think I might be able to get the pipes brought in 15mm.

Assume worse case the plumber can bend a copper pipe to bring it in 15mm? ie, straight pipe from the connector directly through the fixing plate. Can do without those adapters then as they are quite big.

The marflow kit looks fine, as long as you have a wood baton behind to fit it onto.

BTW - The adapters below just use the standard covers that come with the shower so they're hidden anyway.
