Hi folks,
We are in the middle of a substantial renovation of our home in the south-west of Ireland.
The architect designed an ensuite at the start of the project, then shuffled things around just before the floors where poured. In anycase - as inevitably happens in this situation - I regret the shuffling, even though his reasons where sincere.
In anycase - because of the shuffling - the bottom of the bath is now more or less flush with the shower cubicle. There is a 900m square tray already installed for the shower, and there is a 2600 of space along that wall. There is just enough room for a standard bath of 1500-1700 mm. So the bottom of the bath will now be more or less flush with the shower cubical, or there is a dust trap depending of the length of bath you install.
Building up a stud wall and tiling at the bottom of the bath to head height, on one side of the shower cubical is more or less the standard approach in this situation - however that option is not open to us - because there is a window just above the bath.
The other option is building a half height wall to the window level in the same position, and then getting a Custom sheet of glass cut to bring it to head height. I have be told - this is getting into bespoke territory and is going to be expensive.
is there any other solution - is there anyone out there doing decent modular showers cubical, that I adapt for this situation?
