Eu scared stiff by Boris !

Would that assume the EU is abusing us?

Exit maybe out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Ex USSR states jumping out of bed with Russia.

I'll forgive and forget
If you say you'll never go
'Cause it's true what they say
It's better the devil you know
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

Whatever happens, businesses will stay pay. Whether its different tariffs, new import duty, new taxes, or whatever, business will pay, and very likely pay more than under EU membership.
But let's not let that get in the way of more discussion about how we will be free from the thieving dictatorship that is the EU.

The only thing we can be sure of is that nobody knows how it will turn out. And that is the scariest thing about it all. Better the devil you know.

You're absolutely right nobody knows. I believe the EU will not blink till we leave deal or not and only then will they try to 'fix things' ie actually make the concessions/ resolutions to ensure business commerce continues. Between UK and the EU

Which of the candidates would you vote for?

Also who would be your ideal leader of the Torys?

Id start by discounting anybody that wants a no deal brexit.

Then any candidate that says he/she will achieve a new Brexit deal before 31 Oct -its a lie because the EU wont have a new president until 1st Nov

And Id rule out any candidate that ssys they can negotiate a better withdrawal agreement by 'tougher negotiations'

Id vote for a candidate that wanted a 2nd ref........unfortunately Sam has already dropped out.

Who does that leave?

Rory Stewart perhaps -he launched his campaign in a crimson circus tent........whats not to like

My choice for leader.......gosh the choice is so big, how about Ruth Davidson.

I would go with Rory and Ken / Grieve, I do really like Ken Clarke. Old school Tory (y)

So are you voting tory next GI If Ken gets in

If Ken shifts the party back from its ludicrous right and stops the stupid privatisation and cuts - most defintely. The current economic policies are counter productive. I have mentioned it before and created a thread about it - the Torys need to reform and Ken as the president of the TRG I hope he achieves it.

With the numbers as they as things currently stand, a PM can't unilaterally take us out with a 'no deal'...

Thus ironically whoever is in charge would probably have to prorogue parliament to do so.

Not exactly a good start to brexit - a country having to suspend it's parliament to 'take back control'

And another charge of 'contempt of parliament' would be sought!
Which would spark a constitutional crisis far greater than any seen so far, since the queen has to sign it off and should only exercise this power in a 'politically uncontroversial and predictable manner'.

But a PM can apparently unilaterally revoke article 50 !

I wonder how long it will take before quitters understand that the EU cannot 'blink', as it has to maintain it's 'four freedoms'...

If a nation decides to become a 'third country', then they should already know exactly what that means!

And the UK would have agreed to the same EU position were it a different country leaving.

Failure to pay the 39bn would not be a sovereign debt default. Even Macron didn't claim it was. He chose his words carefully and said failure to honour commitments would be equivalent to debt default. I've not seen any credible legal argument that its a debt. Has anyone?

Our credit rating will be in the pants - and our gilts would drop, riasing money which the Government does yearly would rise. It's a dangerous game.

If you choose not to fulfill your monetary commitments because you fell out with your partner(s), that would constitute a default...

And if you default, future lenders would not give you such a good deal as you had before...

Because given your previous actions you would be deemed as a bigger risk of further defaults...

It really is very simple!
