Why does Poland get so much EU money ? Remainers answers please

The question is -- are we happy for Britain to be paying a lot of money into a project to help the economies of other countries?
Equally in the UK, is the South happy to subsidise the less productive/financially worse off regions?

I agree with you, it is a great idea, but we are not rich and when I see the NHS and local councils in this area of the UK struggle as they do, it's hard to see the positives to paying so much money outwards when it's clearly needed inwards.

Making Eastern Europe more Western is great for us but will quite rightly annoy Russia as we encroach on their borders. Not everybody in the East wants to be like us either and I know there is actually a lot of support for Russia in Moldova! Triniesta (sp.) in Moldova still has the Hammer and Sickle on their flag.

Depends what you value more -- the strength of your own country or the strength of others.

Why are these regions less productive? Has inward investment been focused on the South?

Mind you hasnt Wales had quite a bit of EU money?
Wales of course true to form shot themselves in the foot...

Liverpool got a lot of EU money after the tories left it to rot...
(60% of referendum voters understood that)

And having been in the South West recently, there's an awful lot of 'funded by the EU' boards around the place...
(Unfortunately the ability to understand in that region, like Wales, fell well below Liverpool's level)

If quitters believe that any London centric government will invest the same amount as the EU in the regions, then they truly are barking mad!

I used to think that, but I think the UK economy has probable benifited by being in the EU by far greater than the membership cost.

Thankfully I'm not a nationalistic little englander :)

I care not where someone comes from, only what type of person they are...

And anyone with an ounce of common sense would realise that most of the problems in the world are caused by the 'stronger' countries preying on the 'weaker' ones!

Better to raise the living standards of everyone rather than compete in a race to the bottom...

The former is the European social model that the elite in this country hates, because the latter fits their plan of exploitation!

Indeed it has...

But sadly quitters in the under invested areas don't realise that EU regional assistance is designed to bypass governmental prejudice and has significantly helped them out...

But since they wish to bite off the hand that feeds, good luck for them in improving their lot when the Brexitannic sets sail

How dare Sunderland, Newcastle, Cleethorpes receive money from the Government when London and the South East generate the most income and taxes.

That's interesting.

How do you think the contributions to the EU compare with the contributions to the NHS? Or to pensions? Or education?
Yep, it's such a vast amount we have to shell out to the EU
