Best way to attach Towel Rail

Hi all this bloody towel rail

lol.

Towel rail keeps coming loose atm its in the plasterboard just with rawl plugs and screws.Its now just been pulled out 1st pic

The right hand side came loose last year so i decided to use a spring toggle thinking that would hold it better but its again slowly coming loose (2nd pic)

Any ideas apart from taking the bloody thing down

Decent spring toggles are designed to take more than the weight of a towel rail but constant pulling of the towel will have loosened it.

If the plasterboard is on a stud wall, identifying the wooden "studs" might offer a more secure fixing point. But it might be necessary to cut out the plasterboard and put a new stud in if none is available at the desired location.

Yeah there decent spring toggles like you said they should hold the weight no problem,but you can see the plasterboard is starting to come loose where the spring toggle is behind it in the 2nd pic,it's also a night mare creating a big enough hole to get the toggle through.

Right i've finally pulled the left bracket out due to the plasterboard coming loose and i've discovered that i didn't use a spring toggle

but some metal rawl plugs. I think i tried to use spring toggles but the holes were too big and i couldn't get 2 screws in the gap.

Any ideas?? ill have a poke around and see if i can find the stud wall but the trouble is the towel rail is currently in the middle where the mrs wants it.

I've got spring toggles & wall anchors that i could possibly use once i've patched up the wall unless i find the stud

Something like these though the precise size you get depends on the thickness of the plasterboard and depth of gap behind it.

The size of holes in the bracket you are fixing through must be big enough for the fixing.

Holes are too close together for plasterboard fixing , you could fit a shallow wood plinth then secure to that , spreads the load and will hide current damage .

A single fixing in each bracket should be strong enough to hold the towel rail the ends of which should cover the complete bracket.
