Hi All,

I've had an issue with a now ex tenant, and am trying to replace locks in some french doors, rear entry (ooer vicar).
The door appears to be a eurocell eurologik affair..............that's what it says on the tin anyway.
I've removed all the latch hardware and am just left with the annoying plastic trim which is about to get claw hammered covering the eurocylinder screw.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to remove this joining piece please.

Many Thanks
Lee

should really have checked the forum rules, not been on for a while.
Am I going to get spanked for posting rather than linking? I usually pay extra for that.

is it the cylinder you want to change? Or the whole mechanism?

I just want to change the cylinder.
I was going to take the drill through the PVC and expose the screw, that was right up to the point I hit metal. :)

I had a similar problem after removing about 25 screws the bar still did not come off I found a bit of gentle work with a screwdriver released it the rubber seals had stuck to the door.

The more I look at it the more it appears you have to remove the glass to be able to get this off.

Very unusual for it to be screwed on from the glass side but is possible . You could remove the glass to see , if you do so make sure to keep an eye where the glazing packers are and make sure you put them back in the same point. If you did not remove any screws from the Mullion then it is more than likely screwed from inside , but if you have removed screws from the mullion it is very possible that it is also clipped and could just need prising off the slave door. Screws you removed should be approx 60mm in length ( long enough to go through mullion and reach slave door. The metal looks like Ali so is really easy to drill if you need to ....

I reckon it thumps on, see my diagram, the top circle locates first then a good thump locates the arrow head behind the rib on the profile.....

Unless you can unclip it you may have to slide the mullion up to release it, as for checking for screws, get right up and look down into the hollow chambers to see if you can see screws bridging the gap

Thanks for all your suggestions guys.
I got in touch with the manufacturer and it is indeed secured from the glass side......

I understand it's probably far more secure that way, but perhaps slightly over engineered.
