Hi,

It is my first post on this forum so I would like to welcome everybody.

I have been trying to change a tap in the kitchen for few hours and finally decided to try my luck on this forum. I have looked spend few days googling around before I started the work but I didn't find anything similar to mine connector.

Did anybody seen something like this and what is the most important succeeded in disassembling it?

They are Osma gold couplers and in theory are demountable with a special tool. In reality it's more practical to cut them out.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. I will look around for this special tool and if I cannot find it will have to cut them out.
Now when I know what are they it should be easier to find some more details.

If you do cut them out and use new Pushfit fittings make sure the section of pipe that the new fittings go on isn't damaged otherwise the "O" ring may not seal correctly.
The copper pipe above the fitting on the right looks to have been damaged at some time.

Hi,

I have managed to take them off with the screwdriver by keeping the blue ring in the position and turning the whole fitting around.
For reference this is how it looks like. The biggest problem I had with removing the metal rings from the pipes. New tap fitted and no leaks present.
Thanks for the advise.

How did you manage to take it off, I've been trying and just can't get it off

the blue collar is screwed off but you need the tool, as said if you can jam the blue collar you can turn the fitting to get it out, horrible expensive fittings, replace all of them they leak just for the sake of it

Thanks will do, Screwfix in the morning!!

Osma Gold used a “M” ring instead of an “O” ring once depressurised and demounted they were prone to leaking.
Best advice is to cut them out and replace.

Going to replace the lot, once off cannot be used again after I guess?
Thanks guys, much appreciated.
