Iran has sophisticated anti ship missiles and lots of other stuff, a couple of small limpet mines stuck on the side of a ship doesn't seem very professional.
According to the Americans only the Iranians had the capability to carry out this attack.
They seem to forget that the 9/11 terrorists came for this region and they weren't Iranian.

It could just as easily be a bunch of malcontent plumbers on holiday. Or anybody's spooks.

I suspect the intelligence goes further than we all know. But the type of attack, to me at least doesn't prove who done it.
It appears our European allies would like further proof before behaving like a bull in a china shop, as the UK government is doing whilst sucking up to Trump!
